Important Information for our Members

Beginning February 4, 2020, FBHP members will pay no out-of-pocket costs for approved and authorized COVID-19 testing and test-related office visits. Both the testing and related visit will be paid at 100% for any place of service, including telemedicine visits through June 18, 2020. This applies for any Under 65 coverage you may have with us, and to providers and facilities both in-network and out-of-network.
Additionally, for our Under 65 members, we’ve expanded our behavioral health coverage to include telehealthvisits with in-network behavioral health providers. This applies to all visits through June 18, 2020.  Benefits will be provided as currently outlined in the plan policies for behavioral health.
For our Medicare Supplement members, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has stated Medicare will cover the lab tests for COVID-19 testing. Beneficiaries will pay no out-of-pocket costs for testing. Please visit for more information concerning CMS’s response to COVID-19.
  • Please note, telehealth is a type of visit.  Teladoc is a provider of telehealth services. While all Under 65 plan members have access to general medical services via Teladoc, behavioral health services are not currently provided under the Teladoc benefit.


As a reminder, FBHP has convenient online payment options for paying non-quarterly paper invoices, returned payments and restoration of coverage.  While this does not include quarterly payments, if you are currently paying by this method, this would be a great time to update your billing preference to monthly bank draft.  The form to set up this monthly draft can be found by clicking here

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak is rapidly evolving with a state of national emergency being declared by President Trump on March 13, 2020. Governor Bill Lee declared a state of emergency in Tennessee effective March 12, 2020.

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) will continue to work closely with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), other state agencies and metro/regional health departments to protect the people of Tennessee.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water (or alcohol-based hand rub) for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing or sneezing.  Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm or a tissue.
  • Clean and disinfect objects (i.e. cell phone, computer) and high-touch surfaces regularly.
While 80-85% of those who contract COVID-19 will experience mild or no symptoms, some people are at higher risk of experiencing severe symptoms from this illness. This high-risk group includes older adults and those who have serious medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes or lung disease.
If you are at a higher risk of getting very sick from COVID-19, you should:
  • Stock up on supplies like food, toiletries and medicines.
  • Keep space between yourself and others.
  • When in public, keep away from others who are sick, limit close contact and wash hands often. Avoid crowds as much as possible.
  • Avoid cruise travel and non-essential air travel.
  • During a COVID-19 outbreak in your community, stay home as much as possible to reduce risk of exposure.
  • General returning traveler information:
  • Returning travelers from Level 3 countries should stay home and monitor their health during travel and for 14 days after returning to the United States.
  • Returning travelers from Level 2 countries should limit contact with others and monitor their health for 14 days after returning to the United States.
